FREE AWARENESS WRISTBANDS!!
If you have had breast cancer surgery please contact us and we will send you a FREE awareness wristband to warn medics not to use needles or blood pressure equipment on your "surgery" arm. Let us know whether you would like size medium or large.
We meet in comfortable premises and give the opportunity for women to make new friends and to have a chat over a cup of tea or coffee. We give support to each other through what can often be a difficult and traumatic time, both during and after breast cancer treatment. Most months we have a speaker who will talk about relevant issues. Sometimes we will have a talk on a serious subject, for example we might have a Breast Care Nurse to talk about reconstruction surgery or prostheses, and other sessions will be fun, feel-good events. We can also supply information on a large range of subjects of interest and concern to members. Meetings are normally held on the first Monday in each month at 10 a.m. at Melton Baptist Church.
SEPTEMBER 6th September is our AGM, where we review events that we have held over the past 12 months and discuss what members would like to include for the coming year. We will also be having a go at making jewellery - you can choose from earrings, a bracelet or a jewelled bookmark. OCTOBER On 4th October we will be hosting a coffee morning from 10 am - 11.30 am to raise funds for Macmillan Cancer Support. All are very welcome, please invite your friends and family. NOVEMBER 1st November event is to be arranged. We hope to have a local beautician to help us with make up tips and give the opportunity to try various products. DECEMBER 6th December is our annual lunch out together. We meet at the Church at the later time of 11 a.m. and lunch will be at 12.30 p.m. JANUARY On 3rd January Ann Twittey will demonstrate Sugarcraft and give us the opportunity to try this beautiful (and edible) art form for ourselves. FEBRUARY For 7th February we have invited Belovely Designs to display their lovely range of clothes especially designed for women who have had a mastectomy. MARCH It is hoped that Rachel Herrick from Macmillan Cancer Support will explain to us the work of Macmillan and, specifically, the work of the Macmillan Nurses and how their services can be helpful to our members.
